Meet Our Staff

Sara Fickle, Network Clinical Director for Healthy HeartsSara Fickle, MSN, R.N., NE-BC
Network Clinical Director for Healthy Hearts

Sara grew up in Huntington, Indiana. She received her bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1978 from Indiana University, and her master of science degree in nursing administration in 1985, also from Indiana University. She is board certified in nursing administration from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Sara was awarded the Community Health Network Award for Facilitative Leadership in 2005.

Sara has been with the network since 1998. Prior to The Indiana Heart Hospital opening she was the team leader for the CV progressive care units on four towers. After TIHH opened, she was the clinical director for CV services at CHE, including CCU, CV PCU, Heart Station/EKG, Healthy Hearts, cardiac rehab (inpatient and outpatient), pulmonary rehab, and CV data.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, playing the piano, traveling, and IU basketball.


Anticoagulation Clinic

BrushJanet Brush, R.N.
Janet was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Before coming to the Anticoagulation Clinic in September 2007, she was working as a staff nurse in the progressive care unit, taking care of medical and surgical patients. Janet graduated from the University of Indianapolis. Her hobbies include walking and going to movies.


LegereMary Legere, R.N.
Mary was born in Maine, but considers Indiana her home. She grew up on the east side of Indianapolis, graduating from Little Flower Catholic School and Scecina Memorial High School. Mary went on to receive her bachelor of science in nursing at the Indiana University School of Nursing and was accepted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Mary has been with Community Health Network for three years and with The Indiana Heart Hospital since 2007. Mary and her husband have four children. They enjoy riding mountain bikes, coaching the kids' baseball, basketball, and volleyball teams, and enjoying the great outdoors whenever they get the chance.


LoveallDeena Loveall, R.N.
Deena Loveall was born in Bloomington, Indiana. She graduated from nursing school in 1994. Deena has over eight years of experience in anticoagulation management and has been with the network as an anticoagulation nurse since April 2005. Some of her hobbies include reading, cooking and spending time with her family.


HammMease Siah-Hamm, R.N.
Mease was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana but grew up in Fort Knox, Kentucky and West Germany. She received her nursing degree from Northwestern State University and has enjoyed a career with Community Health Network for close to 30 years. Mease has worked in the areas of psychiatry, cardiac PCU, emergency room and the Anticoagulation Clinic. In her free time she enjoys collecting vintage telephones, old milk bottles and antique furniture. She has been married 28 years and has two sons.

JulianCarol Julian, R.N.
Carol was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Carol has been with The Indiana Heart Hospital since it opened in 2003 and has been with Community Health Network for 20 years. Carol currently works weekend option on the Progressive Care Unit while picking up hours throughout the week with Healthy Hearts Center. She graduated from Indiana State University with an associate's degree in nursing and started her career as a labor and delivery nurse. Carol currently has board certification as a cardiovascular nurse. She enjoys leisure reading on her deck, hiking and riding bikes with her teenage daughter, and spending time with her husband of 25 years. Carol has two daughters and looks forward to her first grandson due in 2008.


WhitakerGail Whitaker, R.N.
Gail was born in Elwood, Indiana. Her previous position at The Indiana Heart Hospital was in SICU as a recovery room nurse. She was the 100th employee hired to work at The Indiana Heart Hospital when it opened in February 2003. Gail graduated from the University of Indianapolis School of Nursing. She enjoys taking care of her patients and working with her fellow co-workers. Her hobbies include gardening, listening to music, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson.


Congestive Heart Failure Clinic

MajorsJeanne Majors, N.P.
Jeanne was born and raised in Tipton, Indiana. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State in nursing in 1983, her master’s degree from Indiana University in 1997 and a post-master’s degree from the University of Indianapolis in 1998. She has been working in the Healthy Hearts Center Heart Failure Clinic since 1997. She has worked for Community Health Network since 1986 (she was a critical care nurse prior to becoming a nurse practitioner). Jeanne spends her free time with her daughter and her husband, who works for Community Hospital Anderson. She enjoys history and traveling to historical houses.


HenryAndrea Redstone-Henry, exercise specialist
Andrea Redstone-Henry was born in Chicago, Illinois and currently resides in Greenfield, Indiana. She received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Indiana University in 2005. She works in the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic. She also works in the screening center and helps coordinates events across the network such as cooking demos, Heartoberfest and A Moment for Me. Her hobbies include running, scrapbooking, and spending time with friends and family. She and her husband Zach have three boys, Dakota, Nathaniel and Keegan. She has been with Community Health Network since 2005.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

AmbsAmy Ambs, exercise specialist
Amy was born and raised in Zionsville, Indiana. Her credentials include a bachelor of science degree in exercise science as well as a minor in psychology from Ball State University. While at Ball State, she was on the swimming and diving team for two years. She has been with Community Health Network since July 2002. Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son, reading, boating, and playing with her two dogs, Riley and Larkin.


HalcombMichelle Halcomb, exercise specialist
Michelle was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her education includes a bachelor of science degree in exercise science and wellness with a minor in counseling psychology from Ball State University. Michelle has also been a certified cardiovascular technician since 2002. She has worked at Community Health Network for more than ten years. Her hobbies include exercising, shopping, being outside when the weather is warm, planting flowers in her yard, and spending time with family, friends, and her Boston Terrier, Casey.


HinklePetra Hinkle, exercise physiologist
Petra has a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a master's degree in adult fitness/cardiac rehabilitation, both from Ball State University. Her background includes three years of experience in cardiac rehab at The Cleveland Clinic prior to moving to Indianapolis. Petra has been a certified cardiovascular technician since 2005. She has been with Community Health Network since 2002. She is from Kristianstad, Sweden, where she lived until she was recruited to join the Ball State University swimming and diving team in 1994. She still enjoys swimming, but no longer on a competitive level. Petra enjoys spending time with her husband, Zach, and daughter, Kaisa, and her two dogs, Bogey and Pebble. She also likes traveling and visiting her family and friends in Sweden.


MitchellSarah Mitchell, exercise specialist
Sarah Mitchell was born in Arizona and moved to Indianapolis when she was six years old. She has a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in exercise science and a minor in sports medicine. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, cooking, taking long naps, visiting her sister in Arizona, going out with family and friends, and cheering for Indiana sports teams such as the Pacers and Colts. She joined the network in May 2010 after completing her internship.


RandallMark Randall, Ph.D.
Dr. Randall received his bachelor degree in liberal arts from St. Lawrence University. He also received his master’s degree in exercise science/physiology from Montclair State College, as well as his doctorate in psychology from Loma Linda University in 1998. He also received a doctor of public health degree in preventative care/health promotion in 2004. Dr. Randall currently holds the position of director of behavioral medicine with Community Health Network. He has specialized training in a variety of areas, including behavioral cardiology, obesity, diabetes, chronic pain, exercise/sport psychology, and mental health in a primary care setting. Along with his comprehensive formal education, Dr. Randall has been active in wellness initiatives and programs for over 20 years, concentrating in chronic disease management and healthy lifestyle change. He is professionally and personally dedicated to developing an environment that allows for readiness to actively implement preventive and restorative strategies. While spending the majority of his professional time working in the clinical environment, Dr. Randall remains active in the areas of research, presentation and publication. Dr. Randall enjoys various athletic activities in his leisure time. As a former Division 1 collegiate and professional athlete, he understands the challenges of cultivating as well as maintaining health, and the significance of team work.


TrowbridgeLinda Trowbridge, R.N.
Linda was born in Springfield, Illinois. She attended Southern Illinois University. After receiving her L.P.N. diploma, she came to Indianapolis and attended Marion County General Hospital School of Nursing from which she received her diploma in nursing. In 2007, she received the Community Health Network Nursing Excellence Award for Patient-Focused Care. Linda has been with Community Health Network since 1972 and celebrated 35 years in September 2007. She is a registered nurse and has a certification in adult critical care nursing. Her years of employment have all been with cardiovascular patients. She has worked in coronary care, open heart recovery, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization lab, and at the Heart Failure Clinic.

In her free time, Linda enjoys gardening, taking classes in painting with watercolors, cooking and traveling with her husband.


Nutrition

MahanLisa Mahan, DT
Lisa was born in Tipton, Indiana. She brings 26 years of experience in clinical nutrition therapy to our program. She attended IUPUI and worked for Community Hospitals for 19 years before returning in April 2008. She specializes in cardiac disease, hypertension, blood sugar control and metabolic syndrome. Lisa sees patients in a variety of settings, including the the cardiac rehab program, Congestive Heart Failure program, and patients self-referred or sent by their medical providers. She enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her two children.

Screening Center

AleksaDena Aleksa, screening center coordinator
Dena was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She received her bachelor's degree from Indiana State University with a teaching certificate for grades k-12 in physical education and health. She then earned a master's degree in sports science from The University of West Florida. She maintains an AFAA Personal Trainer Certificate and an ACE Group Exercise Instructor certification and is a certified Zumba instructor. She joined Community Health Network in April 2004 as a preventive care specialist for the Health Promotion Services team. She joined the Healthy Hearts Center team in September 2007.

Some of her hobbies include inline skating, weight training, walking, all kinds of dance, and spending time with her three daughters, Ellen, Rachel, and Dani, and her two cats, Sophie and Molly.

Gabriella BrownGabriella Brown
Gabriella was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended Physicians & Surgeons School in Calumet, Indiana for a Medical Assistant certificate and a Medical Billing and Coding certificate. She joined Community Health Network in April 2008 as a preventive care assistant in the Health Promotions department. Gabriella has been a part of the Healthy Hearts Center since October 2008. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Elliot, her three daughters, Brea, Zion, and Genesis, and her son, Elijah. Some of her hobbies include basketball, singing in the choir, reading, visiting museums, working with teen girls and any family activity.


Sarah EnlowSarah Enlow
Sarah was born in Merrillville, Indiana. She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Purdue University, and is currently working on a B.S. in Nursing from Anderson University. Sarah enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing soccer, swimming, camping, hiking and cooking. Sarah also works in the anticoagulation clinic.
